Adaptor Plates:
The adaptor plates serve as a converter within the manhole system. They facilitate the conversion of shafts with large diameters to shafts with smaller diameters.
Adapter plates may seem small as compared to the entire manhole system, however, they are extremely essential because they make the system flexible to have manholes with large diameters yet follow the standards of a specific country which require smaller diameters at the ground level of the manhole system.
