Poly-Glass Jacking Pipes |
||
The Poly-Glass Jacking Pipe combines and utilises the properties of Polymer Concrete to the full. THe ability of the pipe end to take high loads such as those imposed during microtunneling makes polymer concrete the ideal choice for jacking pipes. Besides the high jacking loads the Poly-Glass pipe can withstand, the ring beam strength of the pipe increases making the pipe stronger. This extra strength enables thinner wall sections to be used. Allowing the operatore to use smaller machines. The extra strength of the Poly-Glass pipe gvies the confidence to the operator to install the pipe at the maximum speed of the equipments they are using. The outer surface of the pipe is also supplied with a smooth GRP lining. This not only protects the pipe from external aggressive ground conditions, it also reduces the jacking loads because it is totally impervious to ingress of water. |
The Poly-Glass Jacking pipes have been used successfully in very difficult conditions at depths of over 20 meters where the water table is 20 meters above the pipe. The Poly-Glass jacking pipes are gravity pipes. They have been tested at 3 bar external pressure. They can also be used as a pressure pipe with internal pressures of up to 10 bar. The Poly-Glass jacking pipe is designed in accordance with the German specification DIN 5418. Since all faces of the Poly-Glass pipe are molded and not machined, they are produced during the manufacturing process. Thus it is possible to incorporate in the pipe both an internal and external joint without expensive machining operations. The Poly-Glass jacking pipes are supplied in lengths of 2000mm or 3000mm. The Poly-Glass Jacking pipes are supplied in diameters ranging from 300mm to 3000mm. |
